Advertising Awards

Addy Awards 

With over 60,000 entries annually, the Addy Awards are the world’s largest and perhaps toughest advertising competition recognizing all forms of advertising, creative in all sizes and entrants from anywhere in the world. Addies are awarded by the 200 members of the American Advertising Federation and are the only awards administered by the advertising industry for the industry. Judged by a jury of renowned creative directors, awards are given to both single and campaign executions, distinguished by product, service or technique. Aesculapius Awards

The Health Improvement Institute holds an annual award for excellence dedicated to health issues. They are given to producers of health-related radio and TV PSAs and websites. Judges choose one PSA and website to receive the top prize - an elegant engraved brass plaque. All winners of the award receive a certificate and a logo to use in publicity materials. Apex Awards 

The Apex Awards are given to recognize excellence in graphic design, editoral content and overall communications effectiveness in 130 different categories, ranging from newsletters and electronic media to writing and design. Aurora Awards

The Aurora Awards is a international competition designed to recognize excellence in the film and video industries. It specifically targets products, programs and commercials that would not normally have the opportunity to compete on a national level, by focusing on non-national commercials, regional or special interest entertainment and corporate sponsored film and video. Competitors come from the independent, corporate, and freelance production groups, advertising agencies, broadcast stations, large and small, from across the U.S. and abroad. Winners may be awarded a "Platinum Best of Show" or a "Gold Award". The Best of show is the highest honor given. Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards 

Contact the National Association of Government Communicators for their annual awards program which includes their Blue Pencil Awards for outstanding print materials, and the Gold Screen Awards for exceptional videos, including a category for PSAs. Go to: www.nagc.com. 

Clio Awards 

Probably the best known advertising award in the country, the television related awards are even shown in some broadcast markets. The site now has a searchable database of Clio Award winners from 1960 to the present in all five categories: television, radio, print/poster, design, and interactive. Visit their website: clios.com

Effie Awards 

The Effies award Ideas That Work - ideas that achieve real results and strategy that goes into creating them. It is one of the only awards programs that recognizes the most significant achievement in marketing communications effectiveness. visit their website at www.effie.org

Emmy Awards 

The Emmy® Awards are administered by three sister organizations which focus on various sectors of television programming: the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (prime time), the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (daytime, sports, news and documentary), and the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (international). The awards recognize excellence within various areas of the television industry and are a symbol of peer recognition from over 15,000 members of the Academy. Engage for Good Halo Awards 

The Cause Marketing Halo Awards are cause marketing's highest honor -- and the subject of an annual special section in Advertising Age. Submissions should include organization positioning, competitive and target consumer description and nonprofit objectives (see more details at the website below). Print, radio or video creative, website, packaging, photographs of events or displays, premiums, research, clippings and other documentation of program impact can be used to document an entry. MarCom Awards 

The MarCom, Ava and Hermes Awards are sponsored by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals and given to those professionals who create outstanding marketing and communication programs using print, visual and audio materials. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. Mobius Awards

OBIE Award 

The OBIE Award is one of the oldest and most prestigious honors for creative excellence in outdoor advertising, given by the Outdoor Advertising Association of America. The OBIE is named after the Egyptian obelisk, a tall stone structure that was used to publicize laws and treaties thousands of years ago, and is considered by historians to be the first true form of advertising. Peabody Awards 

The intent of the Peabody Awards is to recognize outstanding achievement in electronic media, including radio, television and cable. The competition is open to entries produced for alternative means of electronic distribution, including corporate video, educational media, home-video release, World Wide Web and CD-ROM. Programs produced and intended for general theatrical motion picture release are not eligible for a Peabody Award. All program entries must be for programs originally broadcast, cablecast or released for non-broadcast distribution during the previous calendar year. Prism Awards

The Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) annually presents the PRISM Awards, in collaboration with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), FX Network, and News Corporation, for outstanding accomplishments in the accurate depiction of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and addiction, as well as mental health issues, in film, television, interactive, comic book, music, and DVD entertainment. PRISM Award winners are selected through a submission and review process by members of the creative community and scientific experts. They are selected for their entertainment value, accessibility of their message, and scientific accuracy. Reggie Awards

The Annual Reggie Awards honor the “best of the best” in promotion marketing and are awarded by the Promotion Marketing Association. Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophies may be awarded in 14 different categories and the Super Reggie is given for the best promotion of the year. Silver Anvil Award

The Silver Anvil, awarded by the Public Relations Society of America, symbolizing the forging of public opinion, is awarded annually to organizations that have successfully addressed a contemporary issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness. The public relations profession’s most prestigious honor, the Silver Anvil Award acknowledges the very highest level of achievement and is the established icon of the “best of the best” public relations practices. The Communicator Awards
