With over 60,000 entries annually, the Addy Awards are the world’s largest and perhaps toughest advertising competition recognizing all forms of advertising, creative in all sizes and entrants from anywhere in the world. Addies are awarded by the 200 members of the American Advertising Federation and are the only awards administered by the advertising industry for the industry. The Health Improvement Institute holds an annual award for excellence dedicated to health issues. They are given to producers of health-related radio and TV PSAs and websites. Judges choose one PSA and website to receive the top prize - an elegant engraved brass plaque. All winners of the award receive a certificate and a logo to use in publicity materials. The Aurora Awards is a international competition designed to recognize excellence in the film and video industries. It specifically targets products, programs and commercials that would not normally have the opportunity to compete on a national level, by focusing on non-national commercials, regional or special interest entertainment and corporate sponsored film and video. Competitors come from the independent, corporate, and freelance production groups, advertising agencies, broadcast stations, large and small, from across the U.S. and abroad. Winners may be awarded a "Platinum Best of Show" or a "Gold Award". The Best of show is the highest honor given. The OBIE Award is one of the oldest and most prestigious honors for creative excellence in outdoor advertising, given by the Outdoor Advertising Association of America. The OBIE is named after the Egyptian obelisk, a tall stone structure that was used to publicize laws and treaties thousands of years ago, and is considered by historians to be the first true form of advertising. The intent of the Peabody Awards is to recognize outstanding achievement in electronic media, including radio, television and cable. The competition is open to entries produced for alternative means of electronic distribution, including corporate video, educational media, home-video release, World Wide Web and CD-ROM. Programs produced and intended for general theatrical motion picture release are not eligible for a Peabody Award. The Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) annually presents the PRISM Awards, in collaboration with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), FX Network, and News Corporation, for outstanding accomplishments in the accurate depiction of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and addiction, as well as mental health issues, in film, television, interactive, comic book, music, and DVD entertainment.
