Newspapers continue to reach the majority of American adults every day, particularly on Sundays. On an average weekday 78.2 million adults read a newspaper. Over five weekdays that number grows to 101.8 million adults. An average Sunday pulls 91 million adults. Over four Sundays the number jumps to 106.9 million

 
 

The newspaper audience is affluent, with 64% of adults with household incomes exceeding $75,000 daily newspaper readers whereas 47% with household incomes of less than $40,000 also reading regularly.

Seventy percent of adults with a post-graduate education are daily newspaper readers and more than three-quarters of them read a Sunday paper.

Daily newspapers reach over half (58%) of adults with executive, management or administrative positions; 68% of them read on Sundays.

Seventy-one percent of adults who use the Net read a daily newspaper last week and newspapers are read regularly by all age groups:
